Iona libraries do not routinely acquire required and recommended texts for Iona courses but you may search Iona Worldcat to see if the book is on reserve or if we just may have it in the collection. Search by author name and/or title in the search box. At the search result screen, limit your search by Iona University Libraries and Print Book or ebook. If you find a record for a print item, note the call number.

To search Course Reserves directly, search by Course Name, Instructor Name, or Department. If the textbook is not on on reserve for your class, check with the Professor if a copy will be placed on reserve.

If you find the textbook you are searching for, please visit the Help Desk and ask for it by the call number or the Professor's last name.

Some required and recommended texts may be available as ebooks within our collection or at another library.

Iona University Libraries will process your ILL requests for textbooks. Please note that textbooks which are the latest edition, especially if they were published within the last two years, may be difficult to locate via ILL. If possible, request an earlier edition of a textbook; you have a better chance of another library loaning the textbook if it's an older edition. Be sure to check with your Professor if you can use an older or different edition of the textbook for the class. You might also consider asking your professor to put a copy of the textbook on course reserve.

As with any ILL book request, allow up to three weeks for the book to arrive. Textbooks can only be loaned for a few weeks (usually 3 weeks), not the entire semester. Often it is not possible to renew them.
