Annual Reports and Company Filings and TIPS

Many companies will share information about their CSR, sustainability (environmental), and labor practices in their annual reports and other publications.
Annual reports are often available from company web sites, as well as in our databases such as Mergent Online.

TIP:  If you go to company web site and do not see their annual report, look carefully at the home page for links such as "Investor Relations", or "Publications".  Some companies may even have a link "Corporate Social Responsibility". The home page for many companies may be sales oriented.

For example, if you go to the home page for Target (http://www.target.com), it is geared towards consumers who wish to shop online.  However, at the bottom of the screen, note the section "About Us".  Underneath, they actually have a link "Corporate Social Responsibility"!  They also have a link "Investor Relations".

TRY A GOOGLE SEARCH INPUTTING NAME OF COMPANY AND ALSO TERMS SUCH AS CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, HUMAN RIGHTS, LABOR PRACTICES, FAIR TRADE, etc.

For example:
walmart "corporate social responsibility"
walmart "labor practices"  (or even just labor)
walmart "global responsibility"
