The Research Process
Doing research is a process. It is not always "linear," following a straight line from selecting your topic to getting all of your information to writing your paper and citing your sources. Take a look at the flowchart below:
You can see that you may have to revisit certain steps in the process - particularly at the beginning of your research - depending on the search terms that you select, the amount of information that you retrieve, the type of information that you find, etc.
